Magnify the Lord with me! (Through the Psalms)
David is exploding with praise and worship here. But David cannot keep this praise to himself; he must share it with others. When someone truly experiences the grace and goodness of God, they cannot help but want to invite others to experience it with them.
“Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.” Why does David invite us to magnify and exalt God with him? Because the love of God is too great and too awesome to be kept to himself. David is so overwhelmed by the goodness, beauty and majesty of God that he cannot help but invite others to join him in this experience.
When you experience something amazing, the first thing that crosses your mind is who can I share this with? When there isn’t enough of it, you may keep it to yourself or share it with only a limited amount of close friends and family.
However, the love of God is endless and the more you invite others to experience it with you, the more awesome it becomes! The love of God becomes more real and more intense the more we share it with others! So let us like David do two things: 1) magnify and exalt God with all our hearts and 2) invite others to join us in this pursuit!
Who can you invite to share in this experience with you?
