This is a public testimony that you have been cleansed ^Mark 1:44

When someone confesses to be a follower of Jesus, it will be evident in the way they live. Not in what they say, but in how they live. Their actions will prove their faith.

Jesus has just healed a man with leprosy and He tells him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead go to the priest and let him examine you…This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed” (v. 44).

A transformed life is the greatest witness to the world. It is evident to all that this man encountered Jesus and as a result has been healed. Jesus says, “This is a public testimony.”

A private encounter leads to a public declaration of what Jesus has done for him.

In the same way, your relationship and encounters with Jesus ought to be evident to those around you. Our words are important, but our lives bring credibility to what we say.

Also, Jesus wants to restore this man’s dignity and place in society. By going to the priest to get examined, Jesus expects the priest to declare this man clean which will restore him back into his community. Jesus wants to restore you as well. There may be short-comings and hidden sins in your life, but Jesus wants to restore you. He wants to free you from your shame and restore your dignity and worth in Him.

Come to Him and let Him heal you.
